Oops, I Did It Again

About a week ago, I rented a few episodes of True Blood from Blockbuster, just down the street from where I live. After getting home, putting away some groceries I picked up and making myself a nice, cold rum, I sat down eager to watch the episodes.

Except I couldn't find them.

I looked everywhere - I mean EVERYWHERE. The oven. The fridge. The cupboards. The garbage. It reminded me of the time when I was young that my mom couldn't find the milk. She looked everywhere for that stupid milk container. I mean, really - where could it go? She decided that someone must have thrown it out...until she went outside and discovered it half frozen on the doghouse. No one owned up to it, although thinking back on it now, it certainly seems like something I would do.

Sorry - tangent. So, anyhow, I couldn't find those DVDs anywhere. So I did the only logical thing I could think of:

I called my sister long-distance.

I told her the situation, and she immediately went into lawyer mode. She took me through the last few things I did to help me remember. The conversation went something like this:

Her: So, after you went to get groceries, what did you do?

Me: I went to Blockbuster to rent True Blood. Did you know they gave dog treats to dogs?

Her: No. Focus. What did you do there?

Me: I rented the movies. And it was so cute, they tried to give Roxy a treat, and they tried to make her sit, and....

Her: FOCUS! What happened when you were leaving?

Me: Well, it was so funny, they tried to give her a treat, and..

Her: ARGH!

Me: Ok, ok, I left. I went home.

Her: Oh. My. Head.

Me: Ohh...right. I left them there.

So, ok, maybe that's an exaggeration, but you get the point. Anyhow, I bought a few groceries on Sunday, and when I got home, I couldn't find what I bought for dinner that night.

Unfortunately, it was fish.

I've looked everywhere. And, I'm hoping, PRAYING that I left it at the grocery store. Either that, or I am in big, BIG trouble. So far, no fish smell.

I'm sure I'll find out soon enough.
