After my plane picked me up, we stopped to pick up some other passengers on our way west. We dropped one of in Thunder Bay, one in Sioux Lookout and two of us in Dryden, where I was swiftly whisked into a helicopter for a 40-minute ride to the base camp where I'm stationed.
I'm in the middle of butt-f*ck nowhere. I can't even find myself on Google Maps!
Pretty cool the way they can set up an entire base camp, complete with satellite phone, internet capability, radios, showers, dining tent and mobile incident command centre smack dab in the middle of the bush.
Quite cool indeed.
