Last weekend, I went to a cottage in Georgian Bay. The weekend didn’t start out that well; I don’t want to talk about it, but let’s just say it involved a pet, my car and furry face and eyes in my headlights that will haunt me for a long time.
It didn’t end well either, because I drove through a massive thunderstorm. I had to pull over on the highway because I couldn’t see beyond the hood of my car. The rain was coming down in sheets. The car ahead of me, me and the car behind me all had out four way flashers on…we were like the four-way-flasher-caravan. All pulled over because we didn’t know where the road was anymore.
We finally made our way to the turn off into the city, we saw the damage: trees were all over the road, power lines down. I’m lucky I wasn’t there five minutes earlier, or else one of those trees would’ve been on my car! It was a bit of an obstacle course, but we made it through. Then the sun shone and all was well.
Sort of.
