I've been waiting or this, especially since they moved her due date up, like, a WHOLE MONTH! That meant a whole month LESS wait time for Redkap to meet this new little bundle of fingers, toes and cuteness.
I went out of town for the long Canada Day weekend, which is NOT when she was due, by the way. And I asked, I begged, I pleaded with my sister-in-law not have this baby on the long weekend. Please? Pretty please? I mean, how hard could it really be to just cross your legs until I get back?
Apparently, harder than I thought.
I think my brother and his wife planned this. Their discussion likely went something like this:
Brother: "Hey, Redkap’s away for the weekend. She left Roxy at mom’s.”
Wife: “Yeah, she asked me not to have the baby while she was away. I think I'll do it just to spite her.”
Bro: “I love you.”
Needless to say my mom almost went batty taking care of my dog, her dog, and my other little niece (all while I was splashing around in the surf and sand), waiting not-so-patiently for…
This little thing to be born:
Well hello gorgeous! Aren't you just a beautiful little girl?
And look how much your big sister loves you....
Although this looks like a tender moment between big and little sister, you know what she's thinking:
"Girl, I will bitch-slap you if you even THINK about going near my toys."
I. Can't. Wait. For. It.
Cuteness!! Congrats Auntie, now come down and visit me before I leave for Italia! Or come when I get back. Whichevs.
