Oh. My. God.
Titanic is on. I remember seeing this movie when it first came out with my dear ol' gran, and my friend S. My gran -- who had macular degeneration -- wanted to see it for the underwater photos of the Titanic. She was also interested in how they rebuilt the ship for the movie.
You see, my gran was from Belfast. Her father and her grandfather both helped build the Titanic .... which, given my luck was the reason it sank. Kidding, I'm kidding. Maybe.
'Till the day he died, her father never, ever believed that ship sank. He said it was just too big, too well built.
My friend S, on the other hand, just wanted to see Leo. In all his glory.
So, my gran wanted to see it for herself. But because she had macular degeneration, she could only see certain angles. I took both her and my friend to see it.
I had my gran on one side of me, saying "What is it? What do you see? What is HAPPENING?" in a shrill voice. On the other side of me, I had my friend, wailing.
My gran finally asked "What is she CRYING about?"
My friend: "Leo! LEO!"
Oh dear.
I must have seen that movie eight thousand times.
"Here here! To Making it count!"
"Sooner or later Rose, sooner or later that fire that I love about you is going to burn out."
Killing me. KILLING ME!
